Sutter Solano Earns Commission on Cancer Accreditation

Sutter Hospitals Earn Straight-A’s for Patient Safety

SACRAMENTO – All six Sutter hospitals in the greater Sacramento area were recognized with an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The A scores were awarded in the latest update to the Hospital Safety ScoreSM, the A, B, C, D or F scores assigned to U.S. hospitals based on preventable medical errors, injuries accidents and infections.

The Hospital Safety Score was compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety. The first and only hospital safety rating to be peer-reviewed in the Journal of Patient Safety (April 2013), Hospital Safety Score is designed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.

“Earning ‘A’s’ on the Hospital Safety Score demonstrates that Sutter hospitals have exhibited excellence in our national database of patient safety measures,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I’d like to congratulate for your achievements and encourage you to continue to put a priority on the safety of your patients.”

SACRAMENTO – In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sutter Health’s diagnostic imaging centers across the Sacramento region are dedicating every Saturday in October for a very special occasion—free digital screening mammograms for uninsured women who are 40 years of age or older.

“Early detection can lead to a longer, healthier life,” said Barbara White, M.D., Sutter Diagnostic Imaging radiologist who specializes in women’s imaging. “Unfortunately, some women view mammograms as ‘optional,’ especially those without insurance. Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region Names New Regional President

SACRAMENTO – James Conforti, the Chief Executive Officer of Sutter Health’s Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, has been named Regional President for the Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region. Conforti replaces Sarah Krevans, who was named Chief Operating Officer for the Sacramento-based, not-for-profit health care network effective Jan. 1.

Conforti will oversee the operations of Sutter Health’s Sacramento Sierra Region, comprised of hospitals and physician care centers located throughout nine Northern California counties that rivals in size many American health care systems. The Sacramento Sierra Region is one of five regions making up the Sutter Health network of care, Northern California’s largest community-based, not-for-profit system of hospitals, physician organizations and home health and occupational health providers.
