Sutter Solano Cancer Center Earns NAPBC Accreditation

VALLEJO, Calif. — Sutter Solano Cancer Center, part of Sutter Solano Medical Center, has been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

VALLEJO, Calif. – The labor and delivery staff at Sutter Solano Medical Center came to the rescue of a mother and father who pulled up to the hospital just in the nick of time.

With several labor and delivery nurses and staff members huddled around the family’s car, the staff delivered a healthy baby boy, Manuel, at 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 18 – right there in the car. Read More

VALLEJO – Sutter Solano Cancer Center hosted more than 20 cancer survivors, their loved ones and caregivers for a survivor reception Tuesday evening leading up to Vallejo’s Relay for Life event.

The event was held in partnership with the American Cancer Society.

Rick Siefke a social worker at Sutter Solano Medical Center, shared personal and professional experiences with cancer and explained the resources available to the community through the American Cancer Society. Rick is a nine-year cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with Basel cell skin cancer. For 19 years, he has worked with cancer patients and their loved ones both as a volunteer with American Cancer Society and as a professional in the health care industry. Read More

Sutter Davis Hospital, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital and Sutter Solano Medical Center were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance. VALLEJO, Calif. – John Boyd, Psy.D, FACHE, has been named the new CEO of Sutter Solano Medical Center, effective Aug. 1. John takes over for Terry Glubka who has served as CEO for more than a decade. Terry will be the new CEO of Sutter Health’s Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley beginning July 15.

Boyd arrived at Sutter Health in 2008 as the chief administrative officer for Sutter Mental Health and Sutter Continuing Care, which grew into the role of chief administrative officer of Regional Behavioral Health and Continuing Care for Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region. He achieved great success leading the staff and care services at Sutter Center for Psychiatry and Sutter Oaks Nursing Center – Midtown in Sacramento. During his tenure, Sutter Center for Psychiatry was named a 2014, 2013 and 2012 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine and earned the 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., which recognizes top-performing facilities that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile of performance in physician engagement. Boyd also provided key leadership at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento where he oversaw Imaging, Laboratory, Environmental Services, Pharmacy, Plant Operations and Maintenance, and Security Services.
