*SACRAMENTO – The Community Benefit arm of Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region accepted a national award  Feb. 13, for its Serial Inebriate Program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, a 90-day inpatient treatment program to help homeless individuals overcome chronic substance abuse problems. SACRAMENTO – In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sutter Health’s diagnostic imaging centers across the Sacramento region are dedicating every Saturday in October for a very special occasion—free digital screening mammograms for uninsured women who are 40 years of age or older.

“Early detection can lead to a longer, healthier life,” said Barbara White, M.D., Sutter Diagnostic Imaging radiologist who specializes in women’s imaging. “Unfortunately, some women view mammograms as ‘optional,’ especially those without insurance. At Sutter, we want to help create better access for those seeking care and put them on a path toward wellness.” Read More
