SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento River Cats (and their fans) received a wonderful Christmas gift just in time for the holiday.

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento staff delivered new wheelchairs to Raley Field today for Sacramento River Cats fans.

One of Sutter Health’s largest affiliates, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, donated five wheelchairs to the Sacramento River Cats to help fans with mobility challenges. Wheelchairs will be used to help a fan enter a game from the parking lot or transport a fan throughout the stadium during a game.

Sutter Health is a long-time sponsor of the baseball team and the two local organizations teamed up once again on Friday.

“We are very happy to donate these wheelchairs to the Sacramento River Cats to help fans with mobility challenges,” said Ariel Feigenbaum, strategic partnerships, Sutter Health. “We don’t want mobility challenges to be a reason that someone can’t attend their favorite sporting event. The River Cats are a great partner and we enjoy working with them.”

The wheelchairs were delivered to Raley Field in a Sutter-branded vehicle by members of the Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento staff and received with open arms by the Sacramento River Cats staff.

“We are so grateful to Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento today for making this donation,” said Greg Coletti, vice president, corporate partnerships. “Our fans will enjoy their experience so much more knowing that they have a way to get around the stadium safely.”
