TRACY, CA – After years of planning and a construction process that succeeded despite a record rainy season, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation’s (SGMF) new 47,000 square foot office building opened this week, offering Tracy area residents an expanded set of services in a medical plaza atmosphere.

“We are very excited to have our building open. Our wonderful staff, volunteers and physicians are ready to care for their patients,” said Gary Zufelt, chief executive officer for SGMF. “Our vision is to lead the transformation of health care to the highest levels of quality, access, and affordability, and this new building was designed with that vision in mind. It supports expanded access and new services, and it gives us the ability to continue to grow and provide expanded services well into the future.”

Sutter Gould moved all of their providers from locations throughout Tracy to the new site at 445 W. Eaton Avenue, directly across from Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Physicians and staff provide primary care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics) and specialty care including Dermatology, Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, OB/GYN, ENT, Neurology, Endoscopy, Pulmonology, and Nephrology.

Additional services include a new offering — an Urgent Care Center — and many services familiar to Sutter patients in their other large clinics in Stockton, Modesto, and Turlock: an Injection/Shot Clinic, Lab/Blood Draw stations and imaging services including X-Ray and ultrasound.

“Having a full-range of outpatient care right next to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, helps us provide a complete continuum of care to the community,” said Richard Leal, Director of Foundation Growth & Strategy for Sutter Health.

Hospital CEO welcomes addition

The new clinic is conveniently located adjacent to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, creating a “campus-like” medical services atmosphere, and strengthening the Sutter Health presence in Tracy.

“We welcome the expansion of Sutter Gould Medical Foundation in Tracy,” said Dave Thompson, longtime CEO of Sutter Tracy Community Hospital and a strong proponent of the new facility. “As our city grows, our mission is to have more physicians in Tracy, which also means additional services our hospital can support in the future.”

“The new Urgent Care helps channel patients to the appropriate location for non-emergency care,” continued Thompson, “leaving our emergency room open for true emergency care.”

The construction project included a unique, successful effort to relocate a large oak tree to make room for the new building. The tree is healthy and doing well at its new location on the corner of Bessie and Eaton.
