ROSEVILLE, Calif. — A peaceful retreat for cancer patients and their families, as well as physicians and Sutter staff, is now available at Sutter Cancer Center, Roseville, located at 8 Medical Plaza Drive.

Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation Donor Bob Lamora strolls through the peaceful Sutter Roseville Auxiliary Healing Garden that wraps around the new Sutter Cancer Center in Roseville.

The new Sutter Roseville Auxiliary Healing Garden was made possible by a generous gift from the Sutter Roseville Auxiliary to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation.

“The Sutter Roseville Auxiliary Healing Garden’s beautiful landscaping, private seating areas and fountain is a comforting, peaceful retreat,” said Becky Thompson, the Sutter Health’s Interim Director of Philanthropy in Placer County. It is a beautiful space for quiet reflection for Sutter Roseville patients, families, physicians and employees. Cancer patients and families in particular will enjoy the close proximity to the Infusion Center, physician offices, and the future Institute for Health and Healing.”

Included in the design of the Sutter Roseville Auxiliary Healing Garden are commemorative bricks placed along the main pathway through the garden. Donors have honored loved ones and clinicians by purchasing bricks and benches inscribed with names. Bricks are still available by going to: www.sutterroseville.org/philanthropy/brickcampaign/.

The new Sutter Roseville Auxiliary Healing Garden includes a rock waterfall that adds to the serene, contemplative surroundings.

In October, Sutter Health opened the new, $27 million Sutter Cancer Center, Roseville, located at 8 Medical Plaza Drive. The 60,000-square-foot, three-story facility, which is the most comprehensive and advanced medical center dedicated to cancer patients in the greater area, houses all cancer services under one roof. The services include:

  • The 13,500-square-foot Calvin and Gail Smith Infusion Center, which features 42 roomy, comfortable infusion bays with heated reclining chairs, four rooms with beds and a dedicated pharmacy.
  • Offices for Sutter Medical Foundation specialists – including oncologists, surgical oncologists and gynecological oncologists – as well as support services to assist patients during their oncology journeys, such as cancer navigators, genetic counselor, financial coordinator, chaplain, and onsite research and clinical trials through Sutter Institute for Medical Research.
  • The 14,000-square-foot Sutter Sierra Surgery Center and a Sutter Medical Foundation Lab, making lab work convenient for patients.
  • A holistic integrative health center that is part of the Sutter Institute of Health and Healing is also planned for the Cancer Center.
