Sutter Medical Center Foundation Welcomes New Board Members

Sacramento, Calif. – Sutter Medical Center Foundation has announced the addition of four new community members to its Board of Trustees.

“Our new board members bring great knowledge of the industry and community as well as enthusiasm to the Sutter Medical Center Foundation board. We are excited to have them as we know that Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento will continue to have a great presence in the community because of their efforts,” said Greg Walaitis, Director, Philanthropy, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.

The 33-member board brings a wealth of knowledge and community service experience to the foundation and contribute to their communities in a variety of ways. Ralph Koldinger, M.D., a board-certified physician in internal medicine and gastroenterology, is past president of Sutter Independent Physicians, a 600-clinic, multi-specialty association of independent physicians serving the greater Sacramento area. A native of California, Dr. Koldinger holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University. He received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at UC Medical Center, San Francisco and at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He was a member of the Bioethics Committee at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento since 1988 and served as its chair from 1989-2005. He also served on the Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region Board of Trustees from 1986-1990.

Gloria M. Oates has practiced law in Sacramento since 1985. She is one of the founding partners for the Dutra & Oates law firm, specializing in commercial lending transactions, including documenting, restructuring and litigating complex secured loans. Gloria earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and was awarded an undergraduate degree in accounting with honors from Northern Arizona University where she also played intercollegiate tennis.

California State Legislature responsible for constituent and public relations, media relations, the coordination of outreach and special events planning. He is affiliated with several local organizations including sitting on the board of directors of the California Conservation Corps Foundation. He was a past chair of the March of Dimes Celebrity Chef Auction and the American Heart Association Heartwalk. He is the former president of the Land Park Community Association, former board member of the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization and Boys & Girl Club of Greater Sacramento.

He is also an Emeritus Professor of Marketing in the College of Business at California State University, Sacramento and the former Director of the CSUS Center for Small Business, which he developed into one of the largest of its kind in the United States.
