SACRAMENTO — The Sutter Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has been designated as a Level 4 Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

This recognition is the highest level a center can receive in the treatment of patients with complex epilepsy. SMCS is one of nine hospitals in California to receive Level 4 designation and one of two Sutter hospitals – California Pacific Medical Center being the other.

Sutter Comprehensive Epilepsy Program has been designated as a Level 4 Center since 2005.

“It takes our entire team – physicians, nurses, EEG technicians, diagnostic imaging team and all those involved in providing the professional expertise necessary in treating complex epilepsy – to make this recognition possible,” said Andrew Pete, regional program manager at Sutter Neuroscience Institute.
