Sutter Medical Foundation recognized with the AMGA Foundation Star Award
Sacramento, CA – Sutter Medical Foundation (SMF) received the 2017 Foundation Star Award from the AMGA Foundation at their annual Donor Appreciation Reception March 24. SMF was one of 21 member organizations recognized this year.
The award is given to members for participation in four or more AMGA Foundation initiatives: applying for the Acclaim Award, participating in one or more Best Practices Learning Collaboratives, taking part in the AMGA national campaigns Measure Up/Pressure Down® or Together 2 Goal®, and donating to the Foundation.
“We are pleased to recognize leading organizations with the distinguished Foundation Star award for their passion for high performance health as well as their commitment to our Foundation,” said Jerry Penso, M.D., M.B.A., president of AMGA Foundation and chief medical and quality officer of AMGA. “Together we are revolutionizing health care by identifying, implementing, and sharing data-driven best practices that provide millions of patients the safest, most efficient, and most effective care possible.”
“We are happy to accept the Foundation Star Award recognizing our efforts,” said Theresa Frei, Sutter Medical Foundation chief executive officer. “At SMF, those initiatives included our participation in Measure Up/Pressure Down®, an AMGA national campaign to improve blood pressure control. Our care team’s focus on obtaining an appropriate blood pressure screening for each of our patients gives our clinicians important data, so they can in turn provide tools to help people lower their blood pressure.”
Sutter Medical Foundation is also currently involved with the AMGA’s Together 2 Goal® campaign, aimed at improving the lives of people living with Type 2 Diabetes.
The 2017 Foundation Star awardees are: Sutter Medical Foundation, Advocate Medical Group, Carle Physician Group, Cleveland Clinic, Crystal Run Healthcare, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Mercy, Mercy Medical Group (CA), Ochsner Health System, Park Nicollet HealthPartners Care Group, Premier Medical Associates, P.C., Prevea Health, Riverside Medical Group, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, Summit Medical Group, P.A., The Iowa Clinic, UPMC Susquehanna Health Medical Group, USMD Health System, Wake Forest Baptist Health (formerly Cornerstone Health Care), WESTMED Medical Group, and Wilmington Health.
