Dr. Humphreys Is New Chief of Staff at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento
SACRAMENTO – Hal Humphreys, M.D., an anesthesiologist at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento for 18 years, has been named the new Chief of Staff for the medical center, succeeding Dineen Greer, M.D.
In his new role, Dr. Humphreys will identify strategy and growth plans that will continue to support patients and present new service opportunities. In partnership with the Medical Executive Committee, he will establish the direction and goals for the medical staff for the next two years.
Dr. Humphreys, who served as Vice Chief of Staff for the past two years, worked on the physician engagement committee headed by Dr. Greer for the SMCS expansion, move and EHR go-live that took place in August 2016, and has served as a trustee on the Sutter Medical Center Foundation Board.
In addition, Dr. Humphreys is a vice president of CASE Medical Group Inc., a group of anesthesiologists that support Sutter hospitals in the region.
Dr. Humphreys received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed his three-year residency at UC Davis School of Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Humphreys is a pilot and owns a Cessna 182. He is married to Jeannie Humphreys, director of Ambulatory Surgery Services at the Capitol Pavilion Surgery Center.
