Sutter Davis Hospital Named Among ‘150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare’
DAVIS – Sutter Davis Hospital was named one of 2016’s “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” by Becker’s Healthcare for the third year in a row. The hospital, part of the Sutter Health system, was the only hospital in Northern California to earn the recognition.
The list features both U.S. healthcare provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of health care-specific companies, like consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more. A version of this list has been published every year since 2011, but this is the third year the list features both providers and nonprovider organizations.
“We are honored to be named a great place to work by Becker’s Healthcare,” said Jennifer Maher, CEO, Sutter Davis Hospital. “Our staff has a great deal of respect for one another and that makes for a great work environment. It’s a pleasure to come to work every day alongside a caring group of people who strive to make those in our community healthy.”
The Becker’s list was developed through a combination of nominations and editorial research. The organizations on the list were chosen for their benefits offerings, wellness programs, commitment to diversity and inclusion, professional development opportunities and environments that promote employee satisfaction and work-life balance. Many of the organizations have been recognized by national, state or local organizations for their workplace culture or employee satisfaction scores.
Sutter Davis Hospital partners with the Davis Farmers Market and local farmers and bakers to give staff, visitors, patients and members of the community the opportunity to buy farm-fresh food. The market is held every Thursday. Also, as a part of Sutter Health, Sutter Davis Hospital employees have access to benefits like tuition reimbursement, time off to attend courses to maintain licensure as well as a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.
Sutter Davis Hospital was the recipient of the 2013 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, given annually by the White House for innovation, leadership and quality. A metric of the Baldrige Award is workforce focus, and the hospital achieved this accomplishment through commitment and engagement among staff, physicians and volunteers.
