Four Sutter Health Hospitals Earn ‘A’ Grades for Patient Safety from The Leapfrog Group
SACRAMENTO – Four Sutter Health affiliates – Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Sutter Davis Hospital, Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch and Sutter Eden Hospital in Castro Valley – received “A” grades in The Leapfrog Group’s October 2015 Safety Scores announced on Wednesday. The national employer organization grades hospitals nationwide on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
This was Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital’s sixth “A” score and Sutter Davis Hospital’s fifth “A” score since The Leapfrog Group started tracking safety scores in June 2012. Eden Medical Center received an “A” for the fifth straight reporting period. This was Sutter Delta Medical Center’s first “A” score.
“We work very hard to provide a safe environment, exceptional service and quality care at all of our Sutter affiliates,” said James Conforti, president, Sutter Health Valley Area. “The Leapfrog ranking demonstrates how we partner with one another and our quality and safety experts to make a difference for those in our communities.”
Using 28 measures of publicly available safety data, the Hospital Safety Score assigns A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice a year based on their ability to prevent errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
