SACRAMENTO – Gregory Walaitis, who has more than 22 years experience at the national, regional and local levels in philanthropy, sales and marketing, has been named executive director of the Sutter Medical Center Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.
He most recently served as Vice President of Foundation and Community Relations at Trinity Health System – Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno. In his new role at Sutter Medical Center Foundation, he is responsible for working with the Board of Trustees, developing and cultivating relationships for the purposes of major gift fundraising and working with employees and physicians to further the culture of philanthropy. SACRAMENTO – James Conforti, the Chief Executive Officer of Sutter Health’s Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, has been named Regional President for the Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region. Conforti replaces Sarah Krevans, who was named Chief Operating Officer for the Sacramento-based, not-for-profit health care network effective Jan. 1.
Conforti will oversee the operations of Sutter Health’s Sacramento Sierra Region, comprised of hospitals and physician care centers located throughout nine Northern California counties that rivals in size many American health care systems. The Sacramento Sierra Region is one of five regions making up the Sutter Health network of care, Northern California’s largest community-based, not-for-profit system of hospitals, physician organizations and home health and occupational health providers. Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice and the Sacramento Hospice Consortium are offering volunteer training programs for people interested in becoming hospice volunteers for hospice services. More than 300 volunteers currently work with seven hospice programs serving the greater foothill area, but more help is needed. Hospice volunteer training classes are being offered on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10, and Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Conference Room A. Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital announced today that it was awarded a $10,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life Insurance Company to support the Children’s Bereavement Art Group.
The Children’s Bereavement Art Group encourages children to learn to cope with and accept the death of a loved one. The program helps children express their grief through creative outlets such as drawing and painting, which provides a tangible means to communicate their feelings.
